Parks

City parks are owned and operated by the City. The Council retains overall control of the parks and park policies.  The Canton parks are intended for the general public use.

The City of Canton Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance of the old city park, Mill Creek Reservoir Park, Cherry Creek Park, soccer fields, CYRA softball park, as well as the grounds for the library, Blackwell House, Plaza Museum, Police Department, City Hall and other miscellaneous properties owned by the City.

Canton City Lake “Mill Creek Reservoir”  (410 Arnold Paul Road)  
Boat ramp for fishing and sailboats, swimming (no lifeguard on duty). Located off Hwy. 243 north of Wal-Mart Superstore. Boat permits may be obtained from Canton Police Department, 555 Hwy 243 West, Canton.  Click here to see video from American Carp Society regarding their experiences at the lake.

Old City Lake (987 Old Kaufman Road)
Pier and bank fishing, swimming (no lifeguard on duty), picnic areas, playground, lighted tennis and volleyball courts, baseball and soccer fields.  Located on Old Kaufman Road, off Hwy. 64 west, main entrance beside Free State Storage.  Boat permits may be obtained from Canton Police Department, 555 Hwy 243 West, Canton.

First Monday and Special Events – RV Park, Civic Center, pavilions, restrooms/hot showers, bandstand, picnic areas. Call First Monday Department (903-567-6556) for group events. 

Baseball Fields (24692 State Hwy 64E)
Call (903) 567-1841 to reserve fields. Located off Hwy. 64 near Hwy. 243 intersection.
