Canton Comprehensive Plan Update
COMMUNITY SURVEY https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9Q8CQRR
Introduction
The City of Canton has initiated a new comprehensive planning process. This new plan will establish a vision and identify Canton's next big ideas for the future. The accompanying action plan will address topics such as land use, economic development, housing, infrastructure, and parks. The policies created through this plan will guide long-term decision making by elected officials and staff, and create guidelines for residents, businesses, developers, and other community partners.
Why does Canton need a new Comprehensive Plan?
Canton’s previous comprehensive plan was adopted in 2004, almost twenty years ago. In that time, Canton and its residents have continued to evolve. The City will now create a modern plan that identifies Canton’s present vision for the future and provides a roadmap for the next twenty years.

Planning Process
The comprehensive planning process has four phases. Each phase builds on the last with opportunities for public involvement along the way. We are currently in the project initiation phase.
Adoption of the new comprehensive plan is anticipated in July 2023.
